How can bamboo be utilised in this project? It is difficult, given its inconsistencies and the fact that a flat pack approach is generally fairly homogenous in its joinery; it is hard to properly compensate the inconsistencies of a natural material through standardised connections. Here I have attempted to create an expanding joint (in collaboration with the sectioned roof above).
I will have to investigate the use of bamboo further, as I am unsure if it's use is appropriate to the prevailing concept of my design.
